Webster University’s Annual Scholarship Dinner,Tuesday, April 14, 2015, illustrated the depth and talent of the current students attending the university. Being awarded a scholarship is considered a distinctive honor, and this dinner manifests a prominent way to acknowledge the accomplishments of these students and the donors.

Guests heard from three grateful beneficiaries, Markus Trice, BA ’75, Trustee, who subsequently has established the Markus and Barbara Trice Endowed Scholarship and the Reta Madison Endowed Scholarship. Trice expressed gratitude for the opportunities his own college scholarship afforded and indicated even today, he considers himself more a beneficiary than a donor. Past scholar remarks came from Justin Blandford, BA ’99, History, an advisory board member of the College of Arts & Sciences. Monica Henson, current student in International Human Rights, The Webster 1970s Era Scholar/The Daniel C. Sullivan Memorial Scholar, talked about her own academic path and the way it has prepared her to make a difference in world hunger.

Davis Endowed Scholarship  provided the cocktail music entertainment, conducted by Paul DeMartinis, Director of Jazz Studies. The evening concluded with the award-winning Webster University Forensic & Debate Team: Reader’s Theatre performance of So You Want to Start A Cult? Gina Jensen, Assistant Director, introduced the ensemble featuring Brian Coats, Theatre Studies, Brianna Jones, Speech Communications, MacLain Naumann, Undecided, Rachel Seevers, Undecided, and Kirby Webser, Speech Communications.
