Variety’s Night of the Rising Stars provided an unforgettable evening with fan favorite from NBC’s “The Voice,” Nicholas David, who brought his unique brand of alternative soul to Variety’s fundraising concert at The Pageant, Thursday, May 1, 2014. After putting his indelible spin on classic songs for millions of television fans, David now is charting his own musical course.
Belleville’s Old Salt Union opened the night. The band was named Riverfront Times’ 2013 Best St. Louis Bluegrass Band and brings a unique take on its old-time string music influences. Jordan of Wild 104.9 served as the program’s emcee.
Prior to the concert, Young Variety held a private party in the Halo Lounge that included buffet food, beverages, tables of silent auction items and raffle tickets for prizes.
