Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation Wine & Whiskers

Tony La Russa and the Animal Rescue Foundation hosted Wine & Whiskers, a very exclusive food and wine-tasting soiree to celebrate Tony’s election to the 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame. Friends, fans, and supporters gathered to extend their best wishes and sample from a number of well-regarded wineries and local St. Louis restaurants. Remarks from the skipper himself plus broadcasting legend Mike Shannon, along with an auction of autographed memorabilia, contributed to the festivities. The event benefited ARF’s programs, promoting positive relationships between animals and people.

The participating restaurants included Arbocasso Foods, Clark Street Grill, The Westin St. Louis, E Pizza, It’s Easy as Pie, LoRusso’s Cucina, Orlando’s, and Vincent Van Doughnut. Distributors from Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Pedroncelli, Glazer’s, PRP, Major Brands, and R2 Wine Co. poured the guests samples from their inventories. The major event sponsors comprised Purina, Ameren Missouri, Team Scotti, Commercial Bank, AT&T, First Bankers Banc Securities, Inc., Marcone Supply, ARC, Inc., and  Tom and Patty Richardson

Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation lives by the following motto: “People rescuing Animals…Animals rescuing People”. It has a mission to save dogs and cats who have run out of time at public shelters and brings people and animals together to enrich each others lives. ARF strives to create a world where every loving dog and cat has a home, where every lonely person has a companion animal, and where children learn to care.
