On Friday, August 22, 2014, the St. Louis Arc welcomed card sharks to its annual “Showdown for the St. Louis Arc,” a Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament held at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac Hotel.  160 players betted and bluffed their way through the evening, enjoying appetizers, cocktails, a fantastic silent auction and friendly competition at the poker tables. Close to $28,000 was raised, and all proceeds benefit the St. Louis Arc’s programs.

In addition to the poker tournament, silent auction items included a Kolten Wong autographed baseball, Brett Hull hockey puck, opening night tickets to a musical at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, wines and amazing experiences.

Dustin Wilcox of Centene walked away as the Champion for this year’s event with Jim Eberhardt placing second and Tom Coughlin third.

The mission of the St. Louis Arc is empowering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to lead better lives by providing a lifetime of high-quality services, family support and advocacy.
