Friday, September 18, 2015 marked opening night for the St. Louis Actors’premiere of Seminar, written by Theresa Rebeck and directed by Elizabeth Helman. The play kicked off the 9th season for this troupe performing in the historic Gaslight Theatre.
A provocative comedy from Pulitzer Prize nominee Theresa Rebeck, four aspiring young novelists sign up for private writing classes with Leonard, an international literary figure. Under his recklessly brilliant and unorthodox instruction, some thrive and others flounder; alliances are made and broken; sex is used as a weapon, and hearts are unmoored. The wordplay does not become the only thing that turns vicious as innocence collides with experience in this biting Broadway comedy.
To celebrate the 9th season, a reception followed after the show for attending staff, board members, season ticket holders, and the actors.
