Saks Fifth Avenue and Donna Karan New York feted 30 St. Louis women for their inspirational community contributions, Tuesday, September 30, 2014. The guests experienced an evening of exquisite fashion, haute cuisine and friendship as part of Donna Karan’s 30th anniversary at the elegant home of Susan Sherman, St. Louis Fashion Fund Chairman and Dinner Co-host. Other co-hosts for the evening included Deedra Hartung and Margery Marshall.

“Saks Fifth Avenue here in St. Louis is honored to be one of only three other cities in the country to host an “Inspiring Women” dinner honoring the career of designer extraordinaire and an inspirational woman, in her own right, Donna Karan. This celebration of her 30-year contribution to the fashion industry is one of the true highlights of our event season,” emphasized Tania Beasley-Jolly, Marketing Director for Saks Fifth Avenue, St. Louis. Highlighting 30 years in fashion, the St. Louis private champagne dinner event featured an installation of looks from Donna Karan’s Fall 2014 collection, dramatically displayed on a series of mannequins, which greeted guests as they entered Sherman’s home and continued up a majestic front staircase.

In recognition of DKNY’s 30th anniversary, the fashion mogul generously is donating 10 percent of the next week’s sales to benefit the Saint Louis Fashion Fund (SLFF). These funds are earmarked to help reproduce the looks of two young designers who participate in the Lift for Life Academy’s fashion program and annual fashion show luncheon in May – one of whom will be awarded with an all-expense paid trip to NYC with local designer Laura Kathleen Baker.
