Saint Louis Zoo’s Young Zoo Friend’s Polar Nightcap

The Young Zoo Friend’s recently hosted Polar Nightcap at the St. Louis Zoo, Thursday, December 11, 2014. Guests were invited to wander through U.S. Bank Wild Lights, sip festive cocktails, enjoy live entertainment and enter and judge the Ugly Sweater Contest.

The evening featured Fireside Stories at the Wild Train Station, raffle pulls for  prize packages including the beer-a-mid, as well as Night Hikes that departed from the Sea Lion Sound ticket booth. The Charles H. Hoessle Herpetarium, the Monsanto Insectarium, and the Sea Lion Tunnel also remained open for guests to view cold-blooded creatures, colorful insects from around the world, and the very playful sea lions.

The Ugly Sweater Contest transpired at the Lakeside Cafe. Guests competed by wearing their ugliest Holiday Sweaters, and then they were photographed and entered into the contest. Everyone could review all the photographed contestants and vote for their favorite ugly sweater.

The Lakeside Cafe and Safari Grill had dinner, snacks, hot chocolate, and adult beverages available. The Safari Gift Shop also stayed open and offered 10% off all of their merchandise for the some shopping. The beautiful holiday lights combined with all the festive holiday activities made for a magical evening at the St. Louis Zoo.
