Safe Connections held its 4th annual Trivia Night presented by the Young Professionals at The Heights Community Center, Friday, November 15, 2013. The evening celebrated the Groovy 60’s with ten rounds of 1960’s themed trivia and featured awesome auction items, raffle tickets and an open bar.

Guests were invited to don their best 60’s outfits and bring snacks, desserts, and additional beverages (alcoholic and otherwise) to add to the fun of the evening. Net proceeds from the annual trivia night will benefit Safe Connections programs and services.

Safe Connections comprises one of the St. Louis region’s oldest and largest locally-founded organizations working to prevent and end domestic violence and sexual violence while helping survivors reclaim their lives. It provides services in prevention education, crisis intervention and counseling that make a big difference in the health of the St. Louis community.

Safe Connections was founded in 1976 as a grassroots crisis phone line. Early on, it became obvious that counseling services for victims of abuse were needed, and therapists joined the small staff. Today, Safe Connections’ therapy clients consist of women and teen girls and boys who have been victimized by domestic violence, sexual assault, rape and/or childhood sexual abuse.

Safe Connections remains the only domestic violence/sexual assault counseling agency in St. Louis to be accredited by the Council on Accreditation because of  its “best practice” standards covering governance, human resources, financial management, and program services. It also is recognized as a Better Business Bureau Accredited Charity and maintains a top rating with the United Way of Greater St. Louis.
