John Lennon had the right idea when he sang “All You Need is Love”. LOVE filled the air as Safe Connections’ Young Professionals hosted the second annual fundraiser at the elegant Olivia on the Hill, Thursday, June 12, 2014.
George Martin, the Beatles legendary producer, and his son released some remixed and remastered songs a few years ago entitled “LOVE”. The album formed the basis of a Cirque du Soleil production in Las Vegas. The Young Professionals decided the time had come to present its own version of LOVE, a soiree of sorts to celebrate healthy relationships, family, and a cause.
Guests came dressed to enjoy an evening out featuring gourmet appetizers, a silent auction, visual salutes to LOVE, a photo booth, and an open bar. No Safe Connections party would feel complete without dancing, and Rhythm of the Nite engaged the crowd. If you still did not feel the LOVE, an old copy of Magical Mystery Tour is recommended.
Safe Connections proudly comprises one of  the St. Louis region’s oldest and largest locally-founded organizations working to prevent and end domestic violence and sexual violence while helping survivors reclaim their lives. Its services in prevention education, crisis intervention and counseling make a big difference in the health of the community.
While one night may not change everything, John Lennon expressed “you say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one”. “All You Need is LOVE” does give peace a chance.
