Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital hosted Honoring Mary Honoring You at Norwood Hills Country Club, March 11, 2015. The Mary Ranken Jordan Society Dinner celebrated those individuals who, like Mary, “always put the children first”. Named for the founder, Mary Ranken Jordan, the members are committed to ensuring that no child ever will turn away anyone.

The event opened with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner. The program, conducted by Lauri Tanner, RN, MSN, FACHE, President and CEO, offered video and remarks about the hospital’s history and work thanks to the generous support of the Society. Then the focus turned to the 47 new members who joined the various giving levels and received a bud vase epitomizing Mary Ranken Jordan’s other love, roses.

Ranken Jordan presented the 2015 Service to Children Award to demonstrate a commitment to the ideals and vision by Mary Ranken Jordan. Given with gratitude on behalf of the children, the Award honors those who serve children and, by their example, encourage others. Adam Knoebel has distinguished himself for his selfless effort and boundless teamwork.

A dedicated McCarthy Building Company manager, Adam supervised the new 62,000 square foot pediatric hospital complex during 2003 and 2004. More than just the project, he developed a strong connection to the Ranken Jordan staff and their daily mission always to consider first the sick and injured children. Before long, Adam’s mantra of “kids first” became the top priority to inspire co-workers and tradesmen to finish the hospital on time and within budget. His passion about quality construction paralleled a new-found compassion for Ranken Jordan’s special children.

Colleagues describe Adam as an industrious, diligent and natural leader. They point to his ability to communicate effectively and motivate. Adam’s work ethic, organizational skills and strong leadership produced results. Those who know him and work with him understand that Adam incorporates a builder. His personal and professional successes are reflected in the people and projects that are made better because of his pursuit of excellence.

In 2010, Adam earned a promotion to Operations Vice President. He recently transferred to the McCarthy regional office in Dallas, Texas. In each area, he has solidified personal relationships or new construction. Adam agrees with Lauri Tanner about the importance of teamwork and concern for others.

Even though he has changed his duties, he still has continued to volunteer his service after completion of the Ranken Jordan project, working with hospital facilities staff to develop and review maintenance plans and the next phase of growth. He also has participated in the annual golf committee and McCarthy’s Fishing Tournament. Finally, he has served as a board member of the Construction Training Advancement Fund.

Adam Knoebel is recognized for his commitment, compassion and dedication, personal qualities that have stood him well and helped McCarthy and Ranken Jordan become leaders in their industries.

The Mary Ranken Jordan Society’s inaugural dinner transpired on May 17, 2006, honoring those who provide exceptional support for the children of Ranken Jordan.
