Radio Arts Foundation Saint Louis 2014 Gala

Radio Arts Foundation – Saint Louis held its inaugural fundraising gala, “A Celebration of the Sound of Art”, Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the Sheldon Concert Hall. Renowned violinist Gil Shaham, acclaimed pianist Orli Shaham, and St. Louis’ own David Robertson graced the stage in a rare and extraordinary concert.

The evening contained outstanding performances, wonderful food and drink, and the opportunity for guests to connect with fellow arts aficionados. Individual and patron tickets, which included the cocktail hour, dinner and concert began at $500 per person. Over 200 guests attended, raising $230,000 to benefit the Radio Arts Foundation – Saint Louis.

Following dinner, the guests adjourned to the concert hall where they heard a selection of classical and popular pieces from siblings Gil Shaham and Orli Shaham. Saint Louis Symphony Director David Robertson introduced the duo’s pieces, and as Gil Shaham noted, served as a “very expensive page-turner”.

Radio Arts Foundation-St. Louis (RAF-STL) is dedicated to bringing classical music to the St. Louis public airwaves. Operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the station’s mission creates a nucleus for the cultural and performing arts community in the St. Louis area to connect, grow and flourish for years to come.

RAF-STL accomplishes this vision through the programming and outreach efforts of a classical music station broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The station partners with distinguished local arts organizations, as well as solo and chamber artists, to broadcast performances, conduct in-depth interviews, air behind-the-scenes programs, and cover the local arts and cultural scene. Beyond classical music, RAF-STL brings jazz, blues and opera – promoting the finest regional arts and cultural organizations, along with uniquely talented individuals.
