The Pujols Family Foundation hosted the O’ Night Divine Christmas Celebration at the Chase Park Plaza’s Khorassan Ballroom, Saturday, December 6, 2014. The star-studded, annual gala attracted celebrity supporters like Hall of Famers Tony LaRussa and Lou Brock along with Meadowlark Lemon,, Darryl Strawberry, David Freese, and emerging actor David DeSanctis, star of “Where Hope Grows”, a movie due out in 2015.
While star-gazing offered many opportunities, the true celebrities remain the young adults with Down Syndrome that benefit from the Pujols Family Foundation. These remarkable young people again shared their joys, talents, and challenges on video, bringing laughter, smiles, and even a few tears. The Foundation also works with impoverished people from the Dominican Republic, Albert Pujols native country, to offer hope where only darkness exists.
This memorable evening represents one of Pujols’ largest events of the year. It encompasses the heart of the Foundation by showcasing the extraordinary service provided to various communities, both here and abroad, throughout 2014. It also reinforces The Pujols Family Foundation’s core belief that we have more similarities than differences but simply need to care for one another. This holiday season provides an ideal opportunity to share the joys and blessings we have to serve others.
