Sophisticated Living invited guests on the road to “visit” Cuba with On The Map Travel, Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at 4545 Lindell’s luxurious event space. Guests heard from the publisher, Craig Kaminer, and On The Map Travel’s partner, Anne MacIntyre, who conducted a question and answer session with power point and audience participation.

Since the U.S. and Cuba have restored full diplomatic relations recently, many Americans still wonder what really has changed for travelers. This presentation attempted to respond to these concerns and dispel any myths that might linger.

Cuba, a large Caribbean island 90 miles south of Florida, is known for its white-sand beaches, rolling mountains, cigars and rum. Its colorful capital, Havana, features well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture within its 16th-century core, Old Havana, loomed over by the pre-revolutionary Capitolio. Salsa emanates from the city’s dance clubs and cabaret shows are performed at the famed Tropicana. You also can see many vintage 50’s automobiles on the streets.

On The Map Travel , a concierge worldwide travel agency, provides individuals and small groups with detailed, interesting, and imaginative travel. Combining its own travel experiences with extensive planning and research produces insider access to destinations around the world whether they are considered Iconic “must-see” places or hidden “off the map” treasures available to only a few lucky travelers.
