The Black and White Ball, St. Louis’ premier celebrity gala event, took place December 21, 2014 at the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis at Lumiere Place. Hosted by Grammy Award-winning rapper/actor/entrepreneur Nelly, the annual black-tie holiday-season celebration has become the highlight of the city’s social calendar. A diverse group of friends from the entertainment, sports, and business communities like Nick Cannon, Lil Ralph, and Brett Hull joined Nelly at the gala.

Live performances occurred throughout the evening, including a feature act by global R&B sensations Nico & Vinz, whose triple-platinum debut single “Am I Wrong?” proved one of the songs of the summer. Nico & Vinz recently won Best New Artist at the 2014 Soul Train Awards.

At the event, Nelly and Shane Williamson of Lindenwood University announced the launch of the 2015/2016 Black and White scholarship program, which will provide two students from the St. Louis region 4-year full-tuition scholarships/grants to Lindenwood University. Additionally, they also recognized the 2014/2015 recipients, Savoy Smith, III, of Ferguson, MO and Kalen Michael Grant of St. Louis. To date, 12 students have received the Black and White Ball scholarships.

Over the past eight years, the Black and White Ball has attracted a variety of celebrity and athlete guests- previous attendees and performers at the Black and White Ball have included Janet Jackson, Allen Iverson, D.L. Hughley, Evander Holyfield, Boyz II Men Ashanti, Marshall Faulk, Johnny Gill, Ruben Studdard, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, En Vogue, Bill Bellamy, DMC from Run-DMC, Jim Edmonds, and Torry Holt.

Plaza Jaguar and Rockwood Asset Management presented the 2014 Black and White Ball with additional support from Derrty Entertainment, Gentleman Jack, and SYNERGY Productions LLC.
