The National Children’s Cancer Society hosted an Evening with the Cardinals, an unforgettable event at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel Doubletree, Saturday, January 10, 2015. History truly came alive as three Hall of Famers appeared on stage for the first time.

Former St. Louis Cardinals Hall-of-Fame pitchers Bob Gibson and Steve Carlton, better known as “Lefty”,joined former St. Louis Cardinal catcher and Hall-of-Fame broadcaster Tim McCarver to share treasured stories from their 1967 World Series victory plus other exciting events that took place during their careers. Out of the three, only Bob Gibson played his entire career with the Cardinals. Carlton and McCarver became part of the infamous 1969 trade that sent them to the Phillies, where Carlton really soared to prominence earning four Cy Young Awards. Dan McLaughlin of Fox Sports Midwest served as emcee and hosted a moderated question and answer session.

The evening  also included a sit down dinner, silent and live auctions that featured one-of-a-kind memorabilia. Testimonials and other surprises contributed some emotional moments.
