Music for Pleasure’s Jam for Jazz

Music for Pleasure hosted its annual customer appreciation party on Tuesday, May 6, 2014.The milestone event spotlighted some new products that stand up to the store’s lofty sonic expectations.The evening also had a silent auction and raffle with all proceeds benefiting Jazz St. Louis in memory of Richard McDonnell, founder of MAXJAZZ Records.

Guests had the opportunity to wander through the seven showrooms and check out Focal’s 1000 Series speakers and Nordost Cable with the other lines of distinguished products. Manufacturer representatives demonstrated the Focal Scala Utopia being driven by Evolution Components from Simaudio, cabled with Nordost Valhalla 2. HiFi and home theater aficionados could experience the rich, versatile “live” sound and then find the the representatives available to answer any questions. .

Jazz U, members of the Jazz St. Louis All-Stars, performed, and Hwy. 61 Roadhouse provided the crowd with food and beverage. Guests also could enter a raffle or bid on some FOCAL headphones, an amplifier, and other HiFi items. All raffle or silent auction proceeds benefited Jazz St. Louis, in memory of MAXJAZZ Records founder Richard McDonnell, who passed away earlier this year.
