The 46th annual Metropolitan St. Patrick’s Day Parade occurred Saturday, March 14, 2015.  A windy and dry day with the temperature in the 50’s allowed major crowds of families and friends to turn out to one of Downtown St. Louis’ largest events.

The Honorable Francis G. Slay, Mayor of St. Louis, Honorable Steve Stenger, St.Louis County Executive, Irish guest of honor Paudie Coffey, Minister of State, Dept. of the Environment and Honorary parade Marshall Charlie Brennan of KMOX’s Charlie Brennan Show led the parade down Market Street.

Beads and candy kept the children happy while over 5000 marchers in bands, floats, inflatable balloons handlers, horseback riders and motorbikes, dancers and even wild birds filed past the crowd. Food and drinks remained available in Kiener Plaza’s “Irish village”. New for this year, a family-friendly Leprechaun area afforded people the ability to watch the giant helium character balloons close-up as they were inflated in Aloe Plaza, near the corner of 18th and Chestnut.
