On Monday, May 19, 2014, Metro Theater Company recognized Carol North and Nicholas Kryah at the Sheldon. After a combined 73 years with the Company, both Carol and Nick have decided tol retire in June, 2014.
A Playful Celebration honored the legacy of Carol North and Nick Kyrah with a reception and dinner, a fun and memorable program, and a toast to these two outstanding artists who have shaped and nurtured all that Metro Theater Company has become.
The celebration featured scenes from Metro Theater Company productions spanning four decades and dynamic speakers who shared the impact Carol and Nick’s work has made on young people, their families, and St. Louis schools and classrooms. All funds raised from A Playful Celebration will help continue the legacy Carol and Nick have bestowed to the St. Louis community.
The mission of Metro Theatre company is inspired by the intelligence and emotional wisdom of young people to create professional theatre, foster inclusive community and nurture meaningful learning through the arts. Because young people deserve the finest art we can create for them, we honor and support the professional artists who do the work of our mission. Because we choose to remain focused on our mission and purpose, we forge partnerships with schools, organizations, and institutions to serve the community effectively.
