Jet Linx hosted a grand opening of its new St. Louis base, close to Lambert International Airport, Thursday, May 22, 2014. The ribbon-cutting celebration enabled guests to peruse the facilities, inspect some of the private jet aircraft on the tarmac, and network with company officials. They also could view some of the super-premium automobiles provided by Exotic Motors.
On account of the improving economy, lower pricing and increased demand from corporations, private jet travel is growing nationally, and St. Louis is benefiting from this trend.St. Louis Lambert International Airport’s launch of Jet Linx, the only private jet company in the nation, offers a local solution for guaranteed Jet Card and Aircraft Management services. It has begun operations from a restored private terminal facility and hangar at Lambert, part of the Missouri Air National Guard former site which has gone unused since 2009.
The economic impact of Jet Linx is estimated to exceed $10 million:
- Jet Linx is investing more than $1 million with the city of St. Louis to lease seven acres at the soutwest end of Lambert, directly adjacent to the new runway and just five hundred yards west of Terminal 1;
- Jet Linx expects to generate more than $1 million in annual tax revenues;
- Jet Linx is investing approximately $1 million in the renovation and capital improvement of the former Air National Guard facility;
- Jet Linx will purchase nearly $3 million annually in jet fuel from local vendors;
- Jet Linx will create more than 100 local jobs for design, construction, operations and pilots;
- Jet Linx will spend approximately $3 million with local jet aircraft maintenance and service providers for its managed fleet;
- Jet Linx will invest approximately $1 million annually in contracted services with local Fixed Base Operation providers including ground transportation, catering, and hotels.
Founded in 1999, Jet Linx has nine locations including Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Omaha, San Antonio, Scottsdale, and now St. Louis. Jet Linx has taken a decidedly different and successful approach to private jet travel with an emphasis on personal service. Jet Linx St. Louis is owned by St. Louis businessmen Robert Hermann, Jr., Keith Harbison, and Jim Mauzé, who see not only the need for expanding private jet service at Lambert but also the economic benefits to the St. Louis community.
Jet Linx is initiating a new page in the rich aviation history of St. Louis with the re-launch of the former Missouri Air National Guard as its base of operations. This tradition goes back to the legendary aviator, Charles Lindbergh, who flew out of the facility almost a century ago as the chief pilot on the St. Louis to Chicago mail run. Subsequently, he joined the 110th Observation Squadron and made his historic trans-Atlantic flight during 1927 in his famed aircraft, the Spirit of St. Louis. The proud heritage continued as the home of the F-15 and 86 years the Missouri National Guard operated out of this spot.
“We are thrilled to be investing in the economic development of St. Louis and the continued expansion of Lambert International”, commented Jim Mauzé, Base President of Jet Linx St. Louis. “We pride ourselves on local operations and see tremendous potential for growth now and into the future.”
Rhonda-Hamm-Niebruegge, Director of Lambert-St. Louis Airport, added “Working with Jet Linx and the Missouri Air National Guard on this exchange was a great example of government and private sector cooperation on a venture that benefits Lambert and the St. Louis Region.”
Jet Linx, a locally-focused private jet company, originated in 1999 as a more personalized approach to private jet travel. Jet Linx offers two different Jet Card levels and an Aircraft Management program, providing its clients with an all-encompassing, local solution to all of their private jet travel needs.Jet Linx’s operation has received an ARG/US Platinum safety rated distinction, an accomplishment earned by less than 3% of aircraft management companies in the U.S.
The St, Louis Base is accessed off Lambert International Boulevard, just west of Lambert’s Terminal 1. Members enter through a security gate and have the option of pulling up to the aircraft or the terminal building where a company service representative will greet them, park their car, and take their luggage to the aircraft. Inside the terminal is found a lounge, boardroom, fully stocked bar, wi-fi and amenities catered to their needs.
