The Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse Downtown hosted “Over the Edge St. Louis”, a rappelling competition down the side of the Hyatt, on Saturday, October 4, 2014. To motivate everyone’s “spirit”, the Hyatt and Ruth’s Chris held a wine tasting the night prior from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
The wine tasting featured more than 30 varietals from Glazer’s D&E Wine Group and some delectable Ruth’s Chris signature hors d’oeuvres. 40% of the ticket price of $50 went to Special Olympics, which supplemented sales with a silent auction.
The following day, 125-135 “Edgers”, including the St. Louis City and County police chiefs, came down the side of the Hyatt. While this event had the official sanctioning of the Hyatt and City of St. Louis, do not try it on your own or even at home without the proper equipment and instruction.
