The Humane Society of Missouri held its annual Bark in the Park on Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Forest Park.  The weather could not have been better and it brought out a record crowd, quite the contrast to last year’s rain soaked event.  The event raised at least $78,000 to go to the Humane Society of Missouri’s Animal Cruelty Fund.

All the favorite activities were back like the 5K race, 1-mile walk for animals and the Purina Pro Plan Performance Team.  This year brought a biergarten for the adults and facepainting for kids and kids-at-heart. Fox2’s Lisa Hart and Y98’s Jen Myers were on hand to help lead the walk and pet contest respectively.

Since 1870, the Humane Society of Missouri has been dedicated to second chances. They provide a safe and caring haven to all animals in need – large and small – that have been abused, neglected or abandoned.
