On Saturday February 28, 2015, Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis’ celebrated its 20th Winter Trivia Night, its most popular event of the year! Supporters, family and friends joined in the fun, testing their trivia knowledge as they competed for the grand prize and all the bragging rights. FREE beer, soda, water, and popcorn came with the table price. VIP tables also received two bottles of wine, a cheese tray, and prime table placement.

Pizza remained available for purchase along with red and white wine by the bottle or glass. While no outside alcohol was permitted, guests brought their own delightful “picnic food” to share with their respective team tables. The players also found a number of silent auction items for bidding. Proceeds will benefit the Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis’ mission of providing safe and affordable housing for all.

HFHSL was founded in 1986. At that time, a small volunteer staff supported the entire program, from the initial homebuyer applications and mortgage processing to seeking funding. In 1988, the local organization proudly completed its first two homes.

Today, with a dedicated full-time staff of 29 paid employees and two ReStore facilities that employ an additional 20 people, Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis maintains its organizational efficiency, as 85 cents of every dollar raised goes directly into program expenses.

Each year, more than 3,500 volunteers give their time on the build site or ReStore, filling more than 11,000 volunteer opportunities, not counting the priceless work that is done by our many volunteer committees. On account of the hard work of these volunteers and the support of the St. Louis community, more than 350 St. Louis families now have a safe and affordable place to call home.
