St. Elizabeth of Hungary was all abuzz on the evening of Saturday, November 14, 2015 with Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis’ inaugural Adult Spelling Bee. A fun and challenging alternative to a trivia night, players grouped into “hives” of four to compete against each other in 10 rounds of spelling culminating in each winning member going home with a trophy and bragging rights for an event which is bound to become a yearly event.

Hall passes could be purchased to safely sit out a round if needed.  Auction items were varied and included pet pampering sessions, romantic stays at local hotels, jewelry and skincare products, and other fantastic events and items.

Each year, more than 3,500 volunteers give their time on the Habitat for Humanity build site or ReStore, filling more than 11,000 volunteer opportunities, not counting the priceless work that is done by our many volunteer committees. Due to the hard work of these volunteers and the support of the St. Louis community, 360 St. Louis families now have a safe and affordable place to call home.
