Just as the Sisters predicted, the skies cleared, and a pleasant autumn day greeted the alumni, friends, and supporters who participated in Fontbonne University’s 26th Annual Golf Classic, Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Norwood Hills Country Club. Net proceeds from the tournament, which returned to Norwood after a three year hiatus to Forest Park, will go to scholarships and academic initiatives that advance the vision of Fontbonne as a preferred destination for students who seek academic excellence in higher education.
Golfers signed up as individuals or a foursome, and some took advantage of many sponsorship packages available. The individual player entry fee amounted to $250 per golfer or $1000 per foursome and included greens fees, golf cart, lunch, cocktail reception, and one golf gift for each team member. Prizes were awarded for first and second flights.
Instead of a dinner and silent/live auctions, Fontbonne concluded with a cocktail reception, partnering with the Eckelkamp College of Global and Professional Studies to promote its internship program. Golfers could relax following a long day on the links and learn about the students and the way the internships possibly could benefit a golfer’s company.
