Five Acres Animal Shelter’s Spay-ghetti Dinner & Auction

Five Acres Animal Shelter hosted its annual Spay-ghetti Dinner & Auction at the Stegton Regency Conference & Banquet Center, Friday, February 7, 2014. The family-friendly event, held in conjunction with National Spay Day, helped raise funds to support the spay and neuter efforts at Five Acres Animal Shelter, the only no-kill shelter in St. Charles County.

Guests who purchased the $75 VIP ticket received wine at their reserved table, a complimentary Five Acres wine glass, a private buffet, express check-in, and a Team USA hockey puck autographed by Blues team members David Backes, Kevin Shattenkirk and TJ Oshie. This one-of-a-kind item remained available only to the VIP ticketholders. Naturally, the general admission price still offered a family plenty of activities. Besides a pasta dinner, the evening included a silent auction of sports memorabilia and other items, a raffle for a signed Blues jersey, and a kids corner featuring several animals up for adoption.

Petco Foundation repeated as the Platinum Paw sponsor with additional support from St. Charles Orthopedic, Hillside Animal Hospital, Coventry Health Care, Spencer Creek Animal Hospital, Henson Electric, and Deveraux & Company, CPAs & Business Advisors.

Five Acres Animal Shelter’s mission focuses on ending pet homelessness, promoting responsible pet ownership, and advocating for animal welfare. It comprises the only no-kill animal shelter in St. Charles County, Missouri. Five Acres Animal Shelter does NOT euthanize its animals to make room for new ones – the dogs and cats in its care stay as long as needed until they find their forever home. It only humanely euthanizes when a situation arises that an animal can no longer live a high quality of life, according to the vet, based on its medical state or in the rare case of extreme aggression.
