Sunday, May 15th Five Acres Animal Shelter held it’s annual fund raiser: UnCorked…A Cause for the Paws, at The Foundry Art Centre in old town St. Charles, MO. It was a beautiful sunny day and most people arrived early in anticipation of another great event!

There was live music, with samplings of the region’s best wine, beer, spirits, and food from 36 vendors!  Guests viewed and bid on a wide assortment of silent auction table items followed later by a live auction and then musical guest Big Machine country recording artist, Brett Young took the stage.

Proceeds from Uncorked allow Five Acres Animal Shelter, St. Charles County’s only no-kill animal shelter, to help rescue and find homes for dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. The majority of our animals come from private citizens who are unable to keep their pets and we love and care for them until we find another family for them to join. We also work to transfer animals from overcrowded shelters to save companion animals scheduled for euthanasia.

Most animals we accept are healthy, however, we do take some animals in bad shape who require extensive medical treatment. These pets need our help the most but their care is expensive, even with local vets working with us to keep costs down. So we rely on kind people like you to help us to provide care for these animals whether by making monetary or in kind donations, volunteering or being a foster parent.

Five Acres Animal Shelter is a 501c3 non-profit organization and does not receive any tax funding- we rely completely on private donations, corporate support, events and grants.
