Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design hosted the Makers Ball 2015, a celebration of makers and the power of craft, at the Palladium Saint Louis, Saturday, April 18, 2015. The Makers Ball promised a “spectacular event with surprises around every corner” and delivered.

The gala encouraged guests to appear in crafty cocktail attire, “wearing your favorite maker”. A Maker is defined as a person who makes something, a fabricator or constructor. Everywhere guests traveled, they could find something made from a Maker’s Mark Whisky Tasting or custom cocktails to glass blowing demonstrations.

Maker’s Mark (Bourban), Edward Jones, Alive Magazine, and Jacobson Staffing sponsored the event. Sheila Greenbaum, Gary Wasserman, and Paula and Jeff Reed served as the gala co-chairs, assisted by a committee of “makers” and shakers.

The main purpose involved raising money, and guests had ample opportunities to bid on some fantastic art and experiences during the silent and live auctions. Dinner followed with dancing to craft a perfect ending. Proceeds from the event support education, exhibition, and community programs at Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design.
