What has become an annual event, Maplewood’s whimsical tribute to Bastille Day occurred Friday, July 10, 2015. This free event gave attendees the chance to take a self-guided tour of fun through historic downtown Maplewood, enjoying live art demonstrations, entertainment and food and drink specials sold streetside by Maplewood’s award-winning restaurants.

This year offered a sampling of the STL 250 Cakes courtesy of the STL 250 Cakelovers, who kicked off the festivities with a Cakewalk parade down Sutton Boulevard at 6:30 PM. The Sutton Mainstage at 2731 Sutton featured performers Farshid Ethniko, Special guests, The Fox Teen Talent, followed later by the headliner, The Gene Dobbs Bradford Blues Experience. Other entertainers seen around the city included St. Louis Hoop Club, Dream Seekers Dream Interpretation, Belly Dancing by Aalim Dance troupe, Impish Grin Face Painting and Tarot Card Reading at Mystic Valley.

Musical artists playing streetside consisted of St. Louis own Miss Jubilee, The Boney Goat Band, Acoustic Element, Bryan and Lola, The Elliot Ranney Band, Hal Greens, Kecia Davis, Kevin Bilchik Trio, Phatz Jango, Terri Langerak, The Sidemen and Childbloom Guitar Program of St. Louis.

Other streetside artists found: Awesome Face Painting, Chalk Riot, Dream Seekers, Hi Tadah, George Malek, and the School of Metaphysics.
