A Spooktacularly Comical Time!

Carney’s Kids Foundation 14th Annual “Taste of Restaurant Tuesday” Halloween Spooktacular

Carney’s Kids Foundation, a locally based non-profit that raises money and awareness for children’s charitable organizations, held its 14th annual fall event, “Taste of Restaurant Tuesday Halloween Spooktacular,” Friday, October 25, 2013, 6:30 – 11:00 PM, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel St. Louis – Clayton. The “Halloween Spooktacular,” comprises the largest fund-raiser Carney’s Kids Foundation coordinates during the year to support its charitable partners.

“Our goal from this event is to raise enough money to give financial assistance to regional children’s non-profits. All money raised goes directly to our charitable partners. The Foundation operates on 100 percent volunteer support,” emphasized John Carney, Foundation founder and chief executive officer, and The Big 550 KTRS personality and host to a midday show that airs from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. http://www.ktrs.com/shows/weekdays/john-carney.

The party had a particularly special significance since it served as a tribute to comedy legend Rahn Ramsey, who lost his struggle with cancer earlier this year. Comedians Dan Chopin, Jeremy Essig, Joe Marlotti, and Dan O’Sullivan performed killer stand-up sets, crediting Ramsey’s influence and perpetuating his memory. Never allowing a dull moment, John Carney and Claire Kellett, KMOV News 4, emceed the frivolity, and Kim Tucci handled the live auction duties.

John Carney’s affinity for fine cuisine and support of the local restaurant community meant no guest left the Halloween Spooktacular undernourished. The first part of the evening offered signature tastings from many St. Louis favorites, including:
