The Kraftig Polo Club and Care to Learn held a special VIP Pre-Polo Cocktail Party at the Busch Family Estate, Grant’s Farm, Friday, June 5, 2015. The Sunset Soiree should have preceded the Stirrups for Students Polo Match scheduled the next day. Unfortunately, the rainfall that occurred earlier in the week forced the cancellation of the match.

Nevertheless, the cocktail party transpired in the spirit of the Busch Family, who have hosted numerous splendid gatherings at the mansion since 1913. Guests toasted the Stirrups for Students sponsors, match competitors, celebrities like Cardinals hall of famer Jim Edmonds and Olympic legend Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and U.S. Congressman Billy Long, MO 7th District.

Butler’s Pantry provided elegant hors d’oeuvres to complement the beers of choice, Kraftig and Kraftig Light, along with wines and assorted libations. The delightful evening also enabled guests to capture some keepsake photographs with celebrities and players. A brief live auction, orchestrated by Doug Pitt, founder, Donn Soresen, event co-chair, and Congressman Long salvaged part of the revenue lost to the canceled polo match. One lucky high bidder left with an adorable Labrador puppy.
