On the perfectly pleasant morning and afternoon of Sunday, October 5th, 2014, the APA hosted it’s Canine Carnival in Tilles Park.  Dogs and their owners found all kinds of activities to make a perfect Sunday afternoon in the park.

APA executive director Steve Kaufmann got the day rolling with a welcome before the Purina Pro Plan Performance Team demonstrated the amazing agility and talents of their rescue dogs.  Jennifer Blome was on hand to help present Martin Schweig the Ella Megginson Award for Excellence in Animal Welfare.

The Canine Carnival’s royal court came next with KSDK’s Kelly Jackson handing awards.  Scooter and Gia were crowned the king and queen of the carnival.  The costume contest was presided by Pat McGonigle, Nichole Berlie and Julie Tristan of KSDK, and Rebecca Roberts and Angela Hutti of Fox2.

The Animal Protective Association of Missouri is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing people and pets together, advancing humane education and creating programs beneficial to the human/animal bond.
