The Ambassadors of Harmony celebrated fifty plus years of service to the community through music at their Gala event on Friday, February 10th at the St. Charles Convention Center. The sold out event featured performances from some of the world’s supreme Barbershop ensembles

The evening began with cocktails where guests were able browse the silent auction items while socializing with members of Ambassadors of Harmony. Voice Dance provided the cocktail entertainment. After a welcome from Mayor Sally Faith the program began with the Ambassadors of Harmony serenading guest with music. During dinner guests were entertained by vocal selections from Melodia, The Vaughans and Vocal Spectrum. A special musical presentation forms the Recruits and Ambassadors of Harmony was performed before the live auction.

The Ambassadors of Harmony is one of the premier men’s a caapella choruses in the world. Known for powerful and musically masterful performances, Ambassadors of Harmony offers diverse repertoire drawing from barbershop, jazz, pop, folk, classical and holiday favorites.  Founded in 1963 by 26 members who called themselves the Daniel Boone Chorus, the a cappella chorus has grown to more than 100 singers, produced several recording, won numerous awards and entertained audience across the United States and worldwide. The Ambassadors of Harmony is led by co-directors, Dr. Jim Henry and Jonny Moroni and associate director Dr. David Wright.

“This evening’s event vividly brings to light the extraordinary transformation of lives. Not only for those of us singing in the chorus, but for the Youth who will be changed for the better through our sharing of musical experiences. It is for them to which this night is dedicated,” said associate director Dr. David Wright.
