The 6th Annual “ATV Polo for BackStoppers” Event was held August 21, 2021 at Sinclair Polo Field. This event raises over $14,000 for our local Backstoppers Charity. These donations come through corporate Sponsorship and gate entry fees. This was a privately held event.

The match began with the singing of our National Anthem by Charles Glenn, who for 19 years – including the Stanley Cup win – was the official Blues Home Game National Anthem Singer. Families and Guests were treated to cold beverages and a full bar plus a BBQ buffet dinner.  A playground and pool was available for those who brought children.

Guests watched an exciting Polo Match from a safe standing distance. Those who purchased VIP lanyards sat in the tent section with a private full bar. ATV Polo Teams “Flash” vs “Ninja Turtles” made a grand entry through a fog, racing around the field. Once lined up the official referee dropped the polo ball to start the match. Players thrilled the crowd with daring moves, dangerous situations, near misses, spills, run-ins, breakdowns and resetting of crushed goal nets. The game time announcer called a spirited play by play backed by rousing rock music. After the match live music by Southbound entertained the crowd into the evening.

These ATV Polo players appear each year as Super Heros in America’s Birthday Parade in downtown St. Louis. They, as all of America’s Birthday Parade members, are strong supporters of our Police and Fire Protection.

BackStoppers provides ongoing needed financial assistance and support to the spouses and dependent children of all police officers, firefighters and volunteer firefighters, and publicly-funded paramedics and EMT’s in our coverage area who have lost their lives in the line of duty. In addition to our mission of supporting the families of fallen heros, BackStoppers provides assistance to first responders who suffer a catastrophic injury performing their duty.
